I know some of Bob Carter's work as a geologist. Like Ian Plimer, Bob Carter has contributed to the body of work on palaeoclimatology. Precise modelling of today's climate change is difficult enough but reconstructing the causes of past climate changes is much more challenging.
Ray Evans is an engineer and founding member of the HR Nicholls society along with Peter Costello who until very recently was the federal member for Higgins. This is ironic in a way because Higgins the electorate is named after High Court Judge HB Higgins while the HR Nicholls society is named in honour of the 1911 editor of the Hobart Mercury. Judge Nicholls is said to have been instrumental in having editor Nicholls charged with contempt of court. Nicholls was acquitted and the decission according to HRNS, was "a damning indictment of Higgins' behaviour."
