Sucks to be the people getting laid off, but from a company perspective, this is cutting overheads, which is needed to move towards profitability. So at least this is some action rather than just words.
Never forget, no company is loyal to you, so don't be loyal to any company. You're just a piece in a machine when you have a job. If someone is going to pay you to take your free time away from your life, get as much money out of them as you can.
As an investor, I am at least partially pleased to see some action, even though it sucks for the people who got laid off.
