mowibble, why do you think cooling would see a prevalence of high pressure systems?
High pressure systems consist of warm moist air. As they cool they drop their moisture and the air becomes lighter.
By the way, you never responded to my questions with regards to your comments about holding a hot pot in gloved hands. I'm still interested in what your answer might be.
