Throughout out recorded history there have been sporadic wildfires but from my perspective, the current warming has brought an increasing frequency of weather conditions favouring catastrophic fire events.

    Extremes of weather are predicted by AGW theory. Increased greenhouse gases store more energy in the system, energy to power both fire weather and blizzards. The following reference details the changing patterns of intense weather events. Data on the trends in hurricane/cyclone frequency is ambiguous though, no trend is the total annual numbers but increasing numbers of the most destructive ones.
