Has Anteotech created a solid state Silicon battery anode ? go to page 11 of the link of the Orlando battery presentation below and look at what looks like a piece of black rubber ?
Pretty impressive result after curing @ 90 degrees for 3 hours , Is this what what those 3 Battery patents registered were about ? very interesting times for the ADO battery division and needs to be explained in detail what they actually have , they certainly are in the right space for high performance , lighter , smaller and cheaper batteries.

Using Silicon Anodes in Replacement of Graphite

The silicon all-solid-state battery uses both a solid-state electrolyte and an all-silicon anode. According to Android Headlines, initial rounds of tests on the new battery technology showed that it is safe, long-lasting, and offers high energy density.

As graphite anodes reach their limit in terms of power and energy density, battery makers are turning to highly-abundant material, silicon. When used in the anode, silicon can offer 10 times more capacity than graphite, translating to higher energy density per volume. As a result, leading automakers including BMW, Ford, GM, Porsche and Tesla are all increasing their silicon battery development.

However, due to the expansion and shrinking of the silicon that occurs in the battery, these
batteries are less stable and have a shorter battery life. Therefore, more manufacturers are partnering with material scientists to create new technologies that can help reduce swelling.

In Tesla’s case, they have been working on their own solution that is meant to be 6-10 times cheaper than current and previous methods used to date. By using an elastic binder and electrode design, and an elastic, ion-conducting, polymer coating, the battery is designed to work with the expansion rather than trying to prevent it.

Graphite anodes are used in making batteries, but silicon anodes are more preferred to use today in lithium-ion batteries because they have ten times greater energy density. However, they degrade quickly with liquid electrolytes, so all-silicon anodes are not used in commercial lithium-ion batteries.
But the new technology promises a path towards using all-silicon anodes using solid electrolytes in place of liquid electrolytes. Study lead author Darren H.S. Tan said that this new battery technology opens a new territory for solid-state batteries using silicon anodes.
