The greens regularly get over 10% of the primary vote and have virtually no representation in parliament with only about 1 mp. The major parties are happy with this flawed system because they get to win even when they get less 1st votes than the other guy(due to preferential transfers of votes). If the greens get 10% of the vote, then by right, they should get 10% of the representation, 10% of the decisions, 10% of the budget etc just like 10% of the population have voted for.
