Next time anyone goes there it would be interesting to talk to him about old A1 mine. He seemed to be very involved in its mining at the later parts.
That little story precisely describes just how grade factoring works in those reefs. A reef only needs a few rich pods like that to bring the average grades up massively, so sampling little bits and even bulk samples can miss these crucial pods and give wrong grades.
I just wonder how many of these very rich conjugate reefs were ever recorded. I'd say many times the miners would have hoarded the really good bits and the gold was carried out secretly in billy cans or what ever they had then.
Ahh, those conjugate reef intersections. I little bit Christmas dreaming I reckon.
