Anyone who owns 3 or more properties should be taxed on those properties. This will increase housing supply for people trying to get into the property market and help solve the housing affordability problem. Because greedy investors who own multiple properties will start selling them off as it will no longer be viable for them to hold onto them. There are some individuals that own thousands of houses in Australia. Scomo and his wife apparently own 9 properties between them. No wonder he doesn't want any such tax as it's not in his own interests. So I'm talking, a tax per property owned. For each extra house over 3 owned, the tax should increase exponentially making it undesirable to own lots of houses. And for the loopholers that try to get around the tax by transferring houses to their spouse or kids, we could make the tax applicable per household, not per individual. The revenue from those taxes could be used in many ways e.g. to pay more to those nurses etc in the health and aged care industries. This is a great idea if I may say so myself.
