Paper trading will allow you to keep records of trades, work on entries,exits (both for profits and stop losses), percentage or dollar value of portfolio allocated to each trade, what signals you will adopt (MA's/etc).
Find something that you have affinity with as it is you that needs to own the process and implement - your fate is in your hands.
