Hi People,
Just thought I would drop a line as to my share trading antics to see what you guys think, banging down a reply may also teach others.
I will trade between 2 and 10 times per week on mainly speccies but also the rare LT growth share. But occasionally I will decide to hold a share for longer term If I feel the desire to do so, particularly if the stock has low volume and I feel that it will not be a 'pump n dump'so to speak. Typically I will cycle 3-6 stocks through my portfolio at any 1 time.
Is this activity considered as a trader or investor?
After entering a stock which was initially for a trade I have found myself holding if i find a compelling reason to do so (further research and gut feel). But at what point do you take profits or losses?
I had an idea of trading 50% of the holding and leaving the others for a 'rainy day', are any others familar with this method? Or any other methods to deal with the choppy market of late, positions are a bit tight lately.
Have a good christmas all and look forward to your replies.
Thanks Kak
