Why does shell need to farm down into crux - they anyway get everything by 2020. Its more likely that shell will try to prevent any crux deal as long as possible to ensure that nxs enters into the LNG deal with shell rather than go for the liquids stripping.
on second thoughts, If its a farmdown of crux - IT need not have been sacked with immediate effect .. they could have sacked him prior to last months agm... Its probably a takeover that i think IT is/was opposed to ... perhaps for a value less than $1 ... any takeover for more than 55c will go smoothly with the majority current shareholders(who are worn down by the rollercoaster rides) and the buyers will be getting nxs and assets for a song. very unlikely that shell will be the buyer
I think IT strongly (and maybe rightly) feels that once a proper crux partner is found fair value is closer to $1.5 -- he was trying to hold till POO to further increase and then farm out--hence target end of 2010 ... thats when the rest of the board may have got wary --- I think especially SDB with his large investment at risk.
SDB is a banker and would love a quick safe 4 month 70% appreciation of investment rather than a more risked multibager over a year.
