Hard to imagine how some 3(?) years ago the mere mention of the POSCO JV sent the SP into a frenzy and we were all desperately waiting for a corresponding ann. Then nothing came, and excitement (and the SP) deflated. Yet, now that we have it, and as you and others have pointed out here, this is a huge deal, and we get next to n0 reaction.
How crazy has the world gone where it seems that the more speculative and uncertain future businesses are, the more value we put on it. Yet. when you have clear cut business outcomes, or at least vastly de-risked and hard core figures, you get rated well below usual PE valuations!
Additionally, if our politicians of either colour had one inch of common sense they'd celebrate this like crazy and get in front of the election camera crews praising that OZ is finally participating in the downstream value chain - as opposed to just shipping raw ore and getting nothing else from it.
The good thing is, PLS seems on a very stable, solid trajectory for an even firmer hold to enjoy both capital appreciation and soon divvies.
