There you go saying history proves something which it doesn't. Russia is a commodity exporter, therefore more like a semi colonial country than an imperialist country. Is Russia some global industrial or financial powerhouse ? No, they just export commodities, therefore not imperialist. But Russia gets attacked by imperialism and therefore sometimes must wage defensive wars to try and keep a buffer zone around it.
