Colonisation of each state acquired as part of the communist roll out was actively initiated as a way of ensuring Russian dominance and hold over territory. Lenin was very clear about his intentions and Stalin took the opportunity presented by the end of World War Two to expand westward and instal puppets and his version of order - a version originally justified by Lenin who only two late realised that Stalin’s butchery was worse than his own resolve.
