And oh...according to the form, Ward Ferry lodged another shareholder change notice on 9 December 2009. However I cannot trace this announcement anywhere on ASX.

Does anyone know if it is not necessary for the company to release certain types of substantial shareholder change notices? The second last shareholder change notice lodged on 14 Aug 2009 stated that Ward Ferry held 61,917,000 shares. This latest notice states that before its latest purchases, Ward Ferry held 75,607,331 shares. So there is a discrepancy of 13,903,249 shares which is not explained by substantial shareholder change notices. So they must have acquired more shares around 1-9 December which ties in very well with the spike in price and volume on the chart.
