    How are the Greens going to hold this power, you ask?
    Well for starters one might look to the remaining senators post 30-6-2022 who were elected in the 2019 election and who are retiring in 2025. The Senate numbers count to pass all legislation; Supply Bills get free passage there but then not always.

    So fact is 6 Greens senators retire 2025 and only 11 Labor will retire in 2025.
    Labor did poorly in 2019 with only 11 senators elected for their States. That was 1 in QLD and 2 each other State;

    To have a majority in the 76 seat Senate a party needs 39
    So Labor will need existing 11 plus 28 new seats which is 1 in ACT and 1 NT I'd expect and a total of 26 seats in the six States!!

    26 is highly unlikely out of a total 36 State seats up for grabs especially if Rex Patrick wins 1 and the Greens win 5 and One Nation win in QLD or NSW's Latham 1.
    That fantasty Labor tally of 26 ALP + 1 Patrick + 5 AG +1 ON = 33
    So that would leave only 3 seats for the Coalition and or UAP and any other minor hopefuls lol!

    In short Magpie, Labor won't have a majority in the senate.
    Bandt has been crowing on any media medium of late that HIS Greens will have total control in the Senate and decide the agenda by blocking and controlling all but Supply bills.
    And that little problem for gov't is not reliant on Labor winning; it is regardless of who wins gov't.
    By the way, I too loathe the Greens.
