The Australian share market has gained more than half a per cent in morning trade, amid thin volumes on the last day of 2009.
All Ordinaries index had risen 35 points, or 0.73 per cent, to 4,882 points.
Analyst said "I can't recall a lighter volume ever, but most things seem to be stronger, which is encouraging. We are certainly ending the year on a better note than the way it started,"
Global supplier of wealth management applications and professional services Bravura Solutions Ltd (BVA) says it has signed a strategic multi-year agreement with Lloyds Banking Group in the UK.
Under the agreement Bravura will provide a hosted service to support LBGs bank and IFA channels, as well as implementation services and ongoing support through to 2015.
The Australian dollar was higher at noon as moves on bulk commodities markets lifted the currency towards $US0.9000 in quiet trading.
At 1200 AEDT, the Australian dollar was trading at $US0.8972/75, up from Wednesday's close of $US0.8907/10.
All sectors are in positive territory at midday, however the sector with the biggest gain is the Energy Staples index up 135.5 points.
