That's a genuine question Emu. Flowrates will depend on the pressure they open the well at & the size of manifold.

For safety reasons, they simply can't let the gas rip thro' the surface equipment. It's all done in a controlled fashion.

My take is, they'll flow it thro' either a half inch or 1" choke. I'll b happy with any flow rates (8-45 mmcfd). As an example a recent well in WA, flowed 38.4 mmcfd at 1750 psi pressure frm a 1" choke, so the question is how much pressure do the Plover Sands have at Poseidon?

Knowing that gas is present in the area is good, but getting it to flow is a huge bonus. We want the formation to a loofah not a bar of soap (porosity & permeability lingo i.e).

This should b a first-ever for KAR, given that the 2 onshore wells they drilled in VIC few years ago were tight & the first 2 wells in the Browse had their set of problems, so fingers crossed.

Given that at P#2, they've cored the Plover from 5061m to 5123m, I'd pick this as the most obvious production test interval.

Last liner (7") was run till 4700m, so the JV could run the 4.5" production liner to TD & perforate it at the right interval.

We still need to know where the Gas-water cutoff, hence the need to run MDT & other WL log suites. Their mkt update on the 23rd clearly states that HC's are present in the Montara & Jurassics. So fingers crossed for the testing, give it 8-10 days atleast as there should b more then 1 flow test IMHO.

Look fwd to the first major discovery of the nxt decade in the Browse basin.
