Just so everyone is aware, fortescue built a 240km+ slurry pipe from ironbridge to port hedland and they are now at 3-4b dollars. This is an experienced mining company. They found it so hard to build it to the point they are subcontracting the build to a third party. I do hope HIO can pull it off and if so, great on them but i just find that MGT is a lot more attractive as they are focused on keeping the cost low/sustainable when iron ore prices dip.
450km slurry pipe with multiple approvals, 90km water pipeline, etc is going to be a headache when the iron ore prices plunge. I dont want to compare HIO with us and i wish them the best but the stats show that 2b dollars is quite a stretch. Hopefully they can do it!
