The LNP constantly bang the old "Labour's going to increase taxes" drum to sway the uneducated voters to their side. What they are hiding is the many tax concessions they are unfairly giving to the top end of town. (E.g. negative gearing, cgt). Tax reform doesn't mean increasing taxes for everyone like the LNP would lead you to believe. It means removing those big tax concessions from those rich investors who are unfairly benefiting from a tax system heavily designed in their favour. Any tax increases will be targeted specifically at those groups, not the general public. So don't be scared about tax reform. We need it and we need it badly.

Placing capital and labour on an equal footing in terms of tax rates, particularly passive investments would be an excellent reform. Difficult to propose from opposition given the outcome of the 2019 election. Reaper
