Unfortunately there is no known geological science as far as I know that relates the presence of Pyrites to the presence of gold. This is understandable when you take into consideration that Pyrites is not a metal.
So any association of the two materials is pure coincidence.
I'm sure you are aware but for the benefit of other readers, I might just add that Pyrites is commonly referred to as "Fools Gold".
