always had my doubts about this korean consortium of three no-name randoms (easy to say this publicly in hindsight). if KSM/ASM product was so in demand why didn't a major group step in for investment, it's not like they are lacking them in korea (LG, POSCO, mitsubishi, even Hyundai itself). the quarterly read to me like the whole investment is being reconsidered, hopefully because ASM have received indications of someone else being able to do them a better deal but more likely because the consortium hasn't been able to raise the necessary funds to complete the investment. If they stick with the consortium and negotiations drag on, i think shareholders may need to stump up in late 2022/early 2023 given the 6 month delay in full commissioning of KSM. in my view it would be better to ditch the consortium for a better counterparty and risk not having K-sure support for dubbo funding.
