That phrase "anti renewable crowd" is so incredibly simplistic. I reckon you'd have difficulty finding a large number of people who think that solar doesn't work. Everyone knows solar works, it's just that there's a lot of people who think it can completely replace coal, which it can't. It's going to be a case of using a diverse range of generators moving forward and we need to be inclusive of all forms of energy, including coal, gas & nuclear.

What people are more likely to be worried about is the unhinged rhetoric coming from LWNJs like Adam Bandt. The world has seen how fast a country can crumble when nutjobs like him get a bit of power. Venezuela & Zimbabwe instantly spring to mind as countries that quickly went into a spiral of extreme poverty while the political elite enriched themselves... Animal Farm style.... the noises the greens and ALP make about free housing and electricity for everyone by closing coal and taxing everything else has scary tones of national destruction written all over it.
