As I may have said before, the higher up the totem pole this goes, the closer it gets to the EU government, which has stated how important the project is. It is also becoming increasingly urgent to get it moving, since Russia's going to be in the deep freeze for decades to come.
I suppose we shouldn't be afraid of some two-bit mayor, especially since he may get voted out next year anyway...
Which leads me to wonder... how much support does he have? How big is the no la mina crowd? What proportion of Caceres folk support it?
I haven't been able to find much information with respect to that.
