I suspect there is a figure which the major international investment group has forwarded to EMR for the purchase of all of their roughly 15% stake in BE, if I were in their place I'd be seeking to leverage my holding to extract more returns from it in one last hoorah - maybe 75c a share of cash payout to walk away.
Similarly if someone were to find 500,000 BE shares in their stack of paperwork I'd be getting in touch with someone there and offering to sell them to that person directly for above the buyout figure to see if it's possible to leverage their position as the last house on the block needing to be signed over to the developers.
None of which I think would be above board, but business is about need meeting solutions multiplied by desperation.
