DT , I can’t offer an explanation to the timing and content of the announcement. From experience I can say that several times I have checked with different Chairmen about inexplicable announcements, it is usually something silly that I hadn’t considered. It’s interesting to see what goes into drafting announcements. Especially when dealing with biotechs/big Pharma who are listed on foreign exchanges..
The announcements need to comply with ASX and Nasdaq rules, the clauses in the contract. And keep both Chairman happy.
This announcement could easily have been bouncing back and forth between solicitors since 18tg April. I do remember one Chairman telling me it took 8 weeks to agree upon the wording of one announcement.
