Another quick thought and completely idle speculation.
The language in the Medusa presentation is pretty clear that there is more of a focus on growth than in the past and this will be focused on emerging markets and the Asia Pacific.
Geopacific is currently in a months long trading halt and the company appears to be effectively up for sale after a capex blowout at its PNG project. I tend to think this project still has value and just needs a new team with some better financial backing and ability to optimise construction.
Given McGlinn clearly has some existing relationships in PNG, and probably knows a thing or two about earthworks (which was one of the capex problems for Geopacific) it may be a logical candidate if they can get it on the cheap.
