Don't quite understand exactly what you're driving at when you brand at least some of us as "cheerleaders" for banks. As shareholders, we want them to do well and be profitable, but that does not mean we approve or support their misconduct to which you have alluded. As I said earlier, they have paid the price for their sins through financial penalties, and have gone through a process of renewal at the top (with the possible exception of ANZ, which seems to draw your ire).

As far as the ANZ result is concerned, it was nothing spectacular, but it's still profitable, currently paying a FF div of 5% p.a. in an increasingly competitive environment.

On the question of woke policies adopted by the ANZ, this was ultimately driven by shareholder opinion, and the ANZ is not alone in this initiative. Love it or loathe it, it is a trend which has gained momentum and support in the corporate world. If you're not happy with this, or the performance of the ANZ, sell your shares, and use the proceeds to buy some crypto, or NFTs (or both). These investments are entirely free of any woke or social incumbency, and I guarantee your returns will be a far cry from the mediocre returns offered by the ANZ - don't worry, your posts will still be welcome here.

I will agree, however, that the ANZ CEO has been around for a long time. He is the only one of the big 4 who has remained at the helm since the RC. I think we need some new blood, fresh ideas, and a bold new vision from the top.
