One key thing to consider is "What has changed since the Sales Bonus Pool was implemented?" Just a couple of things off the top of my head:

Order of magnitude increase in speed (translates into 10x DRAM speed and equal to SRAM speed)
Megabit array manufactured at the smallest geometries available at imec using state-of-the-art process equipment
