Why carbon dioxide can’t drive climate change.
1 – Temperature rises FIRST – which in turn drives up carbon dioxide levels, and not the other way around as pushed by climate alarmists today.
2 – 97% of carbon dioxide side in the atmosphere is put there by natural processes. Man’s contribution is .037% - which is a tiny amount. Almost all of the `Greenhouse effect’ (97%) is due to water vapour, not CO2.
3 – The natural variation of carbon dioxide levels varies from 3% to 5% - depending on the season and where you are on the planet. Mankind’s contribution of CO2 is less than this variation; so it can’t be driving climate change, or global warming.
4 - The idea that CO2 causes global warming is an outmoded hypothesis. Since this theory became popular about 50 years ago, there has been much water flow under the bridge. The rise in CO2 has been caused by changes in land use, `desertification' (Alan Savory, scientist, farmer, and president and co-founder of the Savory Institute), and declining cloud cover (Charles Blaisdell PhD, “Where have all the clouds gone?)”
5 - When you hear that the “science is settled”, that “97% of scientists agree with human induced climate change,” and “the time for discussion is past”, then you know you are being pressured into uncritically accepting an argument which does not stand up to closer scientific scrutiny.
6 - The tens of billions of dollars has already been spent on trying to reduce mankind’s carbon footprint, but CO2 levels keep rising! Carbon dioxide levels have risen from 331ppm in 1975 to over 421ppm today.
7 - Since that time there has been a very slight increase in surface temperature, and what has happened? People are living longer and crop yields have increased and starvation and poverty levels have come down significantly.
8 - Extreme weather events have declined, as has their severity. Sea levels have remained stable. There has been a very modest rise of 2cms per year over the past 500 years.
9 - The interesting thing is that with Sun cycle 25 upon us, it is predicted temperatures will decline during this cycle because of low Sunspot activity.
10 – Consensus climate experts - with fulsome support from the media - have been making all sorts of dire predictions over the past four decades but none of them have eventuated. They have also gagged open discussion, hence the wide spread promotion of doomsday climate predictions. Time to call out these false prophets and to listen to what the science is actually telling us.
