"In A$ POG is higher than it was last Thursday. I sometimes find the SP reaction odd to changes in POG and other commodities. Yes most commodities are lower in $US since last Thursday but the A$ feel a lot off setting most of the lower prices." - ALK is part of many junior miner ETFs and these are main sellers.
When people sell those ETFs all these funds do is just sell indiscriminately so they can keep same ratio in terms of exposure across the board.

But yes, it does not make sense when looking at AOG in AUD, however ETFs don't look too much in how certain currencies trade.. POG goes up in USD terms, people buy those ETFs, POG goes down in USD terms, people sell those ETFs. There are only on and off switches for those funds - no grey areas.
