Pinto - what on earth are you on about? The dearth of suitable job applicants is industry-wide, so every operator has to make do, sometimes having no option but to mould the person's thinking to align with the goals of the organisation.
Also, paying above the Award is the quickest way to reduce one's profit.
So how do we do it?
(1) Recruiters are useless. We know our business, they don't.
(2) From experience, paying above Award is not only dumb; it's lazy.
(3) Staff crave flexibility - and I mostly let them choose their hours across the day and their days across the week.
It's no coincidence then that our staff retention rate is double the industry average. And it's not - as you think Pinto - all about pay.
