Congratulations and heart felt thanks to Ian Chalmers , for his core role in "fathering" the life of ASM.The Announcement highlights Ian's TENACITY ! To be instrumental in finding the Toongi Deposit , to recognize its long term strategic importance , to develop , improve and modify its individual chemical element separation processes with ANSTO and develop international relations over 25 + years has taken great scientific skill , perseverance and Tenacity .... to the point , where the relationship with South Korea and the technical skills that introduces to the ASM spin-off from ALK has moved to the next level .ASM is now entering the "construct and market "stage ...where perhaps IC and the Board feels , that its more PROCESS driven than TECHNICALLY driven . High level engagement and due diligence between companies /lawyers/ Govt will be on -going , and whilst highly skilled in that area , substantial time and effort in documentation and compliance is involved which IC may no longer want ( or have time and energy ) to do . That is of course said , because the ALKANE portfolio of Tomingley and Boda are rapidly ratchetting up in work load in development and exploration ---and being personally "selfish" on the ALK side , IAN having more time to focus on this is extremely valuable .I hope down the track , there is due recognition for Ian's ASM work , either at the developed Toongi site ...or perhaps at the proposed Dubbo Critical Metals HUB . Whilst IC would be the last person to be comfortable with it , for his family it might be fitting to have something like a 'D I Chalmers Conference Room " named , as a lasting acknowledgement of his founding contribution .That said --I am sure Ian's wisdom on ASM will continue to be sought and contributed to ASM where necessary ....and we will see ASM and ALK both go from strength to strength in the year ahead , which will be a fitting reward in itself. * Posted by maple legion on 2/3/22
Ian Chalmers tenacity has to be admired he has worked tirelessly for decades to make this massive change in mining processing become reality , it is a history making change that will affect mining’s corporate image for the better in this ESG world we now live in , good on him IMO.
