The following article tells the story of a “medical miracle” – a young scaffolder in Birmingham, England, who survived 47% TBSA full-thickness burns following electrocution in November, 2020. He was treated using BTM.
The NHS Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham is one of the largest single-site hospitals in the UK, is part of one of the largest teaching trusts in England and has the largest single site critical care unit in Europe. It is a regional centre for trauma and burns and is designated a Level 1 Trauma Centre. It is also home to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine for military personnel injured in conflict zones.
