The problem is of course that each gram of that 2000 tonnes/yr is very dangerous. You can't ask someone who has drunk some some of Putin's Polonium tea because they aren't with us anymore and there is a reason no sane person lives near Chernobyl now (although no one told those Russian conscripts at the start of the Ukraine war).
