yes it is broken i agree. Thats why parties need to be belted when they sink below whats acceptable. The B.S that the idiots come out with like " I joined politics to serve the people" makes me choke on my own vomit. Very few would join politics for a noble reason. The thing that I see which has gone awol since Howard is the ability, or the preparedness to "sell" the merits of a tough and unpopular decision which is in the best interest of the nation. Howard did it with the Gst and Gun control, before that Hawke and Keating did it with floating the dollar, Medicare and other big ticket policies. Since then our Govt's have shied away from anything progressive and beneficial going forward. As a nation we're stagnating...and essential areas such as education and health services are suffering. Very little investment in new technology except from the private sector, toying with the Climate change issue, the failings will only get larger if this mob stay.
