Doesn't mean it's not routinely done: because in those cases the benefit outweighs the risk.

It requires sedation, cardiac monitoring, a team and Cath lab.

An angio involves injecting a dye into the coronaries and inserting stents if required. This requires injecting into the myocardium.

Not only are there risks of infection, major risks of bleeding (puncturing large arteries in people who are anticoagulated), there's risks of ventricular wall rupture, arrhythmias, etc.

Hell, simply sedating a patient with heart failure is a major risk.

If it were an infusion, I could hook it up myself at the bedside in an office.
