The 29^th Annual Meeting of the Paediatric Burns Working Group was held in Munich late last week and Novosorb BTM was showcased by multiple speakers. PolyMedics was one of the sponsors of the event. Speakers were drawn mainly from across Germany, Switzerland and Austria, but Australia, UK, US and Israel were also represented.

The event this year was organised by Dr. Carsten Krohn and his colleagues at the Paediatric Burns Centre at München Klinik Schwabin. Dr. Krohn was the first user of BTM in Europe and has since held webinars sharing his experience with the product with other clinicians.

The first session was kicked off by Dr. Marcus Wagstaff from Adelaide who spoke on Development and first use of BTM in Australia. Following was the keynote lecture, delivered by Dr. Roy Kimble, Director of Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Burns and Trauma at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health at The University of Queensland.  The title of his address was The use of BTM in paediatric wounds and reconstruction.

BTM in South Nürnberg by Dr. Daniela Oumard from the Nürnberg Clinic for Paediatric Surgery and Urology.

Covering a large soft tissue defect in a neonate with BTM by Dr. Andrea Jester from the Birmingham Women‘s and Children‘s NHS Foundation Trust, UK.

BTM  - 3 Times Different by Dr. Cordula Scherer, Inselspital, University Clinic for Paediatric Surgery Bern, Switzerland.

Use of Kerecis und BTM in Dermal Replacement – Different Case Studies from Dresden by Dr. Katrin Schuchardt, Carl Gustav University Clinic for Paediatric Surgery, Dresden.
