Directors committing to stock acquisition is positive. The shorts are there because they need to be either as a hedge or a speculative strategy on an unproven stock from a financial point of view .
Now if the market takes a liking to this stock, which it appears to have, then it will rise simply on the excitement alone. Holders get a free pass early on.
