I can't agree with your stated outcomes Brabs. WDC's pockets aren't anywhere near as deep as other potential acquires. Some of those other acquirers could pay cash for WDC. Besides, if the tech can deliver on its potential any licencing deal to WDC would be more or less immaterial for an acquirer. It may even boost the sale price, as it de-risks the acquisition with two prongs of product development and faster revenue growth.
As they say, two hands are better than one.
