Thanks Zhc003, have a got this correct, they borrow, or loan funds to buy shares from say NAB, then sell the shares when they increase in value for a profit. If what I have just said is correct, what happens if the shares fall, does the lender in this case NAB apply a margin call, or sells the shares then demand payment of balance
