That is an attitude of a demented and irresponsible party leader…similar stupidity happened with a State Labor leader, QLD Premier who squandered monies on changing the name of a hospital and than moaned about insufficient fund to run the health system.
I can see taxpayers saving if the referendum was on defining who should be privileged to be classified as Indigenous person and thus help in reducing our debt. The one's who miss out under this criteria can still claim that they’re indigenous in the census.
My understanding is that in Hawaii and Canada u need to be at least 50% indigenous to get any form of special assistance.
Predominately white looking kids are getting indigenous educational scholarship when other who really need assistance are missing out.
