What evidence do you have to support Car Makers EV only manufacturing by 2030?
Not sure if you've driven a modern diesel. I have. It's my mobile office and part time camper (workvan) and is a Euro 6 standard engine, which means it uses Adblue (refined cow urine and demineralised water essentially) to cut Nitrogen Oxide emissions significantly.
There is no smog, smoke or anything of the sort, even when starting up in the (cold or hot) mornings. You can't even smell anything when standing near the exhaust.
I'm not anti EV, all for it but rather than believe that EV's will take over everything, I find they will have a place alongside the Internal Combustion Engine.
Also, a few things to consider. The current (pardon the pun) Electrical grid infrastructure could not handle the load placed on it if everyone went EV. Just look at what is happening over in places like California for evidence of that.
Trucks, the logistical heart of society, is a long way from transforming from ICE to EV. When I see a bunch of EV trucks successfully being used on the roads, I'll have been convinced that EV is starting to move ahead of ICE.
One last thing. On longer road trips, people up until now, have been used to pulling up at the service station, filling up their car, and moving on. That process takes about 5-10 minutes. Until EV's can be charged at the same rate, it is something to consider when weighing the pros and cons.
