d'ye know only 100 yrs ago white Aussies were shooting First Nations people on sight. they were treated as slaves, herded off their land into 'missionaries" and given grog, flour, sugar and tea, smallpox syphilis diabetes (from the sugar) alcohol dependency, tooth decay etc etc. and having the women and children stolen from their homes, family and lands.
Great 2005 film on SBS for reconciliation week, the Tracker. another is that great Aus classic the Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith..... so much easier to be entertained than to read a book... or meet some people.
maybe if you can imagine yourself being black fella today you might understand why they want what they want.
