Bizzare argument, mate. We have never had a referendum where more than 95% of eligible voters turned up - despite compulsory voting. You are arguing that the 15% (95-80) of eligible people who decided not to vote in the plebiscite simply because it was voluntary would have all voted AGAINST marriage equality. What about those who didn't participate because they thought we shouldn't be having a vote on basic human rights issues? I really think Australians are a LOT more tolerant and open to genuine liberal ideas than you would like to believe. Look at the voter backlash at the Deeves woman's transphobic comments as one example.
