    it's very clear that in the Keating and Hawke era that many in Labor knew full well that the ground had shifted and the way ahead HAD to be different


    the Liberals are and were hampered by something - something that makes them conservative - something missing - or something that's in them that others don't have - which blocks their ability to recognise changing conditions and/or resist change


    it manifests itself in many ways - one way is their inability for having ideas

    to me - it's not that they don't have the ability - I would think that the ability is inside somewhere

    but, something blocks it - if you said - 'do you have any ideas' ------------- their sandbag wall just gets another sandbag on top and the answer comes out -

    'blank' -- and, they go on and parrot the same old same old

    we've heard the same things from the Liberals since 1944 - no change at all
