I don't see any drugs of any nature being competition. This is not because BIT225 may prove to be some H grail, which it might, but because of the broad market for treating Covid. Many people take too narrow a view of this market, even going as far as stating that the pandemic is over. Others are so naïve to believe that the pandemic in itself was just a hoax.

Anyway, please allow me an analogy. The drug market for C19 and many other diseases is like going shopping in a supermarket to find a food to satisfy your appetite. Only one such food is actually necessary, but there are many to chose from. No single vaccine, antiviral, or otherwise, is likely to satisfy the medical requirements.

This leads me to the CTAP data quoted above, with only one approved drug to date, but hundreds of hopefuls. What does that tell you?

It certainly suggests demand, although we know this from other data too: case numbers, sickness, and fatalities.

The very last thing we need to concern ourselves with is competition or lack of demand.
