My guess is that he is admitting that the near term future is beyond his expertise as it depends on mans ability to overcome the high energy prices. The rate of progress on alternative energy sources...to oil...will depend on many variables which cannot be laid out as a plan for all to see. However for the nimble footed there will be great opportunities to make profits from the gap between high price energy and low long term cost energy. Solar and wind power, often scoffed as too small will be usefull to lessen the impact of the oil cost and shortages. King coal will be re-invented as a clean fuel, as will nuclear power. Personal transport will have to be spearheaded by Asia as they will not be able to have conventional cars due to lack of materials and fuel. Great era about to open up.
