I work in this arena, and wish all holders good luck. Not advice, but I think this will be short lived. The US has some of the most stringent and protectionist rules with regard to infant formula manufacture and import. The manufacturing rules not always applied as evenly to their domestic producers in my view. They have effectively enacted wartime provisions to get this trade happening.

The company which has created the shortage due to chronobacter detection will get itself back up and running. Will they face greater scrutiny from the FDA, for sure, but they will get operating again. There are a massive outfit, have the resources and resolve, and will want to re-establish their brand.

My view is the US will turn the taps off afterwards. I really hope they don't, too many quality producers from Aus, NZ and elsewhere shut out of the US market for years in what is blatant protectionism (so much for the WTO and multilateral rules based trade). But that is what I think will happen. Maybe they will let one or two non-US brands stay in the market for optics, but I even doubt that.

I 100% hope I am wrong, and this starts a new era of trade with the US. Good luck if you're holding.

    Cheers
    kk
