massive asset deflation in Japan over ? 20 years but an actual increase in monetary or price inflation

but now maybe not much asset deflation but massive monetary inflation as the credit crisis goes global?

creating monetary inflation in the midst of asset deflation was Roosevelt's gameplan in going off the gold standard and could well be Ben's plan for us all

Daniel Amerman's articles were a great read over Xmas:

"So the loophole is that if you want to attempt to dodge economic Armageddon and the destruction of every homeowner, pension fund and bank in the country, the way you do so is by destroying the value of the currency, that then generates a false asset value (in real terms) that is greater than the liability."

one of the few commentators out there who can get the inflation/deflation clearly into view (I can't make this stuff up)

understanding is one thing tho - knowing when to jump? - still working on that!

and knowing where to jump? still working on that - Bill Bonner (he's as smart as any out there) has come up with his trade of the next decade:

    ...wait for it

"Sell US Treasury debt/Buy Japanese stocks."

sure have to keep an open mind on this stuff
